
Brigadier General Md Jamal Hossain, ndc, afwc, psc (Retd), served for 31 years in the Bangladesh Army, during which he held a wide range of important appointments both at home and abroad. Throughout his distinguished career, he made significant contributions in the areas of command, leadership, management, education, training, logistics and supply chain management.
In addition to serving in various appointments within the Bangladesh Army and Armed Forces, he served twice in United Nations peacekeeping missions. His principal area of military expertise was logistics and supply chain management. He also made notable contributions to military policing and corporate management, gaining extensive experience in strategic planning, policy formulation and implementation, budgeting, complex decision-making, organizational management, and influencing and motivating people to achieve institutional objectives.
Mr. Jamal has a particular passion for education and professional training. His major areas of interest include Moral Education, Communication Skills, Educational Leadership, Supply Chain Management, and Research Methodology. He is an accomplished trainer and an experienced guest speaker who has conducted sessions for students, teachers, professionals and organizational leaders. A writer and an engaging orator, he is particularly interested in connecting academic knowledge with practical experience and real-life applications.
Mr. Jamal holds two master's degrees and is currently pursuing PhD in Moral Education at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). He has also completed numerous professional courses and training programmes at home and abroad. Among these are the International Certificate Course on Supply Chain Strategy and Planning from the International Trade Centre (ITC), Geneva; Post Graduate Diploma in Business Communication from the DCCI Business Institute (DBI); Advanced Research Methodology Course (ARMC) from the Institute of Education and Research (IER), University of Dhaka; 22 separate modular courses under the United Nations Training and Research programme; a TESOL Certificate Course; and professional training in Artificial Intelligence- among others. These complement his education, training and professional development.
In academia, he has served as Adjunct Faculty at the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), Bangladesh Army International University of Science and Technology (BAIUST), Cumilla, and State University of Bangladesh (SUB), Dhaka. He taught subjects including Business Communication, Presentation Skills Development and Ethics. He has also served as Registrar, SUB.
Currently, he teaches Managerial Communication, Organizational Behaviour and Industrial Relations at the Army Institute of Business Administration (AIBA), Savar. Alongside his academic engagement, he is serving as Director, Trust Energy under Army Welfare Trust (AWT), where he continues to contribute his leadership, management and organizational expertise to the corporate sector. Previously, he has also served as Director General of Business Divisions at Sena Kollyan Sangstha (SKS).
