A Training Programme on “Understanding L/C Procedures for Export & Import Operation” was organized by DCCI Business Institute (DBI) on 27-28 April, 2018 in it’s premises. Thirty (30) Business Professionals nominated by different prominent organizations were participated in the Training. Md. Azhar Ali Miah, Former Executive Vice President, Bank Asia Ltd. conducted the training as Resource Person. Iqbal Anwarul Islam, Head of Procurement, Avery Dennison Bangladesh was also present in this programme. According to the participant’s feedback this training course has broadened their mental horizon and made them conversant with very important issues on L.C. procedures.
Closing and Certificate Awarding Ceremony of the said program was held on 28 April, 2018 at DBI premises. Alhaj Abdus Salam, Former Senior Vice President, DCCI graced the program as Chief Guest and shared his life story as an importer & exporter. He stated that L.C. is an indispensable document in international business. Considering competitiveness in global market, main activities of business houses are procurement, marketing and knowing domestic and international procedures for export and Import. He also pointed out that, shipping documents including Bill of Lading, Packing List etc. are also very important documents for export. So, skilled, efficient, knowledgeable and trained manpower is a must for success in international trade. He cautioned that every clauses of an L.C. should be properly checked before giving import or export orders.
A H M Rezaul Kabir, Secretary General, DCCI thanked the participants for their positive comments and stated that the main objectives of DBI is to facilitate learning and encourage global thinking among the participants. He further stated that this learning will be effective through applying their knowledge in day-to-day activities to face globalization challenges.
