DCCI Business Institute (DBI) in cooperation Southeast University organized a seminar on “Career Opportunity in Supply Chain Management” which was held on 15 April, 2019 at Southeast University, Banani Campus. Prof. Dr. ANM Meshquat Uddin, Vice Chancellor, Southeast University chaired the seminar. DCCI Acting Secretary and Executive Director, DBI Md. Joynal Abdin, Prof. Dr. Md. Abu Taher, Pro Vice Chancellor, Southeast University & Dean, Southeast Business School, Prof. Dr. AFM Mafizul Islam, Adviser & Head of Board of Trust, Southeast University Trust were present on the occasion. Shankar Kumar Roy one of the leading trainer of DBI, presented the keynote paper.

Md. Joynal Abdin, Acting Secretary, DCCI and Executive Director, DBI informed the audience that the courses on International Certificate, Advanced Certificate and Diploma in “Modular Learning System in Supply Chain Management (MLS-SCM(P))”, have been conducting by DBI in cooperation with International Trade Centre (ITC), Geneva since 2004. He highlighted the importance of effective supply chain management for any business organization to become competitive both at home and abroad. All the 18 modules of the course deal with the management of the whole supply chain of a business starting from procurement of raw materials and other inputs up to Customer Relationship Management. These Modules have been developed by reputed consultants of ITC for capacity building of developing and least developed countries around the world to become competitive and face challenges of globalization. He mentioned that this course is not only beneficial for the company for improving its image, efficiency, competitiveness, profitability and growth by reducing cost of purchasing and lead time, but also for professionals for their career development. These courses are equally important for the new entrepreneurs and also enhances the employability of the job seekers.
Prof. Dr. Md. Abu Taher, Pro VC, SEU & Dean, Southeast Business School, SEU emphasized upon this timely initiative for creating new job opportunities. He hopes that this seminar will contribute in capacity building of Bangladeshi Private Sector and improve their performance in competitive global market.
